Description
Data for the earth and environmental science applications is collected utilizing a variety of technologies including aerial photography, remotely sensed imagery, and UAVs to name a few. As this data is collected it must be interpreted by a user to derive useful information that can be used for scientific analysis. This course will introduce students to the collection of remotely sensed imagery, its visual interpretation, how to take measurements from this imagery, and the applications this data can be used for within earth and environmental sciences. Students will also better understand technologies that utilize this information, including Google Earth, GIS, and online repositories that possess these types of datasets.
