Fashion Photography

Description

An examination of the aesthetic and technical strategies of editorial fashion photography, ranging from glamour to magazine work to advertising campaigns. Students will develop and execute complex photographic strategies, creating a portfolio of images for editorial stories. The course uses a teamwork---based studio practice, with students playing the roles of photographer, art director, photo editor, and photo stylist, as well as making work on their own. The course will teach the practice of editorial fashion photography via a critical and theoretical analysis of its history, with an emphasis on its intersection with fine art photography.
